[Grab] Senior Software Engineer, Fulfillment

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will collaborate deeply within our community of developers while guiding other engineers in strengthening their test automation competencies across backend, fullstack, and mobile domains.

Reporting to the Software Engineering Manager II, Test Automation, you will lead programs to improve automated testing methodologies for both backend services and frontend applications. You'll help ensure systems are reliable, scalable, and meet both technical and user expectations. Guiding other engineers through automation practices and innovations will be important in your daily role. You will be fully onsite, working from our Petaling Jaya office in Malaysia

The Critical Tasks You Will Perform

Design and implement automated testing frameworks, scripting tests that validate end-to-end performance and functionality for backend services and frontend applications.
Evaluate and refine testing tools and processes, identifying opportunities to enhance functional, security, and performance testing.
Optimize test data, scenarios, and cases for clearer insights and broader coverage while pinpointing defects and maintaining system reliability.
Collaborate with developers and product teams to embed automated testing strategies that improve the quality of deliverables and meet technical standards.
Provide training and mentorship to teams in adopting and scaling automation practices for testing across backend, mobile, and fullstack solutions.
Lead simulation testing that handles high traffic or variable loads to measure system stability and response times.
Advocate for product quality by interpreting user needs and mapping test designs to real-world scenarios.

What Essential Skills You Will Need

3 years+ of experience creating and scaling automation test suites for backend and frontend systems, using frameworks such as Selenium, Cucumber, Appium, Go Test, or comparable tools.
Proficiency in designing and writing test scripts in languages like Python, Golang, or Java and debugging automated testing systems.
Strong ability to develop structured testing plans including scenarios for functionality, system performance, and security validations.
Knowledge of stress testing tools or simulation tests for system stability under varying traffic conditions.
Familiarity with backend, mobile, and frontend testing paradigms that support multiple engineering scopes.
Experience training engineers in automated testing frameworks, ensuring adherence to best practices for system efficiency and reliability.
Exposure to AI-powered tools and latest technologies, leveraging them to improve automation workflows.
